  • Chase Pitman is a Columbus native and a big time CrossFit enthusiast. His first experience with CrossFit was in 2010 while attending Elon University, but his love for CrossFit began in 2016 when he joined a gym in Austin, Texas. Upon returning to Columbus, Chase began at CrossFit Clintonville in the Fall of 2017, first as a member and then as a coach starting in the summer of 2019. Never having been much of an athlete growing up, Chase was originally drawn to CrossFit because of the strong community, which is the biggest reason he fell in love with Clintonville. Competition has never been Chase’s cup of tea, so he prefers to focus on the health and lifestyle aspects of CrossFit, in large part because of the ways CrossFit has changed his life and greatly improved his personal health. Outside of the gym Chase can be found slingin’ sofas for Ashley Furniture or hanging out with his dog, Scruff. You can find Chase at gym pretty much everyday between 3:30 and 7:30 pm.

  • Joe and his sister grew up in gyms as their mom taught aerobics. It wasn’t until his masters degrees in Athens, Ohio, that he found CrossFit and fell in love.

In 2016-17 Joe lived in southern France and had the opportunity to combine his passion for French with CrossFit. He learned the universality of this sport; no matter which language you hear it in, the movements and camaraderie translate just the same. When he returned to Ohio, he found Crossfit Clintonville, became enamored with the community and soon knew he wanted to join the dynamic coaching staff.

Joe is middle school Social Studies teacher at the new World Language Middle School in Clintonville. He instructs in French as part of the French Immersion curriculum and often adds CF movement in the classroom, even if it’s not their physical education class. Allez allez!

  • From a young age and throughout high school, Socorro stayed active through cheerleading while also playing softball year round.

Once graduating high school, to release energy and to stay active, she started running. A few years later in 2019, Socorro was introduced to CrossFit. Very quickly she realized the constant variation of CrossFit was much more exciting and enjoyable!.

Socorro received her CF-L1 in April of 2021 and quickly jumped into coaching at CFC. She graduated from Ohio State with a B.S in Medical Anthropology. Today, she is completing her Masters in Public Health with a focus in Health Behavior and Health Promotion at OSU. She is also an ACE certified personal trainer.

  • Nate grew up playing baseball year-round, and basketball in the winter. After high school, he attended The Ohio State University and is graduating in the spring of 2022, with a degree in Finance and Statistics. While in college, he struggled to find a new activity to put his energy towards, until he discovered CrossFit. The constant challenge CrossFit provided gave him the motivation to start exercising regularly again. He joined CrossFit Clintonville in the fall of 2020 and quickly realized that it was much more fun than his old gym routine. He loves the community atmosphere of the gym and working out with friends.

As his passion for CrossFit grew, he decided to pursue his CF-L1, which he completed in November of 2021.

  • Weezy grew up active but never considered herself athletic. In 2010 her then-boyfriend told her she’d never be an athlete. She broke up with him and signed up for a marathon six months out, and continued running for several years after.

She stumbled into CrossFit Cool Springs in Nashville, TN in 2015 and was immediately hooked. She got her CF-L1 in 2016, started coaching full-time, and hasn’t looked back. She also started working with Strongest Events to support fitness competitions all over the world, something she’s proud to continue today despite no longer living in Nashville.

Over the years, Weezy has obtained certifications in Olympic weightlifting, nutrition, rowing, prenatal and postpartum fitness and personal training. She is a stickler for moving well and will always stress that importance over moving faster or with heavier weight.

Outside the gym, you can find Weezy with her husband and sons, often tending to their garden or watching the birds.

  • Ian grew up running track and cross country and has always had a love for outdoor activities including mountain biking, climbing, hiking, snowboarding, and trail running. After being introduced to CrossFit in 2021, he realized that high intensity, functional training was key to improving the activities that he loves. He went on to get his L-1 certification in April of 2023 and has since committed to a life of activity and fitness.

CrossFit is important to him because it not only makes people better at the activities they love, but also has a huge impact on people's mental health, which in this day in age, goes a very long way.

  • I started crossfit in 2015 when my mental health was at an all time low. Through the community I joined I learned to love not just CrossFit but also to appreciate what the human body is capable of. I got my CF-L1 to coach kiddos and teens early on and continued on to get my CF-L2 a couple of years later. Community is everything to me and I am so thankful to have found that at CFC! I graduated from the University of Toledo with my BSN and am currently working in the Neonatal ICU at Riverside and absolutely love my job. As much as I love my work babies, I missed coaching and am very thankful to be involved in such a welcoming gym.

She fell in love with the CFC community and wanted to further invest herself by obtaining her L-1 in November of 2021. She began coaching at the start of 2022 and has thoroughly enjoyed helping new members join post CF101.

  • Ali’s CrossFit journey began in 2014 following the end of her high school swimming career. Her parents and younger sister had been doing CrossFit for a few months and were convinced Ali would love it. Ali was skeptical, thinking it might be “too easy” if her parents could do it… And here she is 10 years later still being challenged in workouts on the daily!

Ali continued her education at Ohio State, which brought her to Columbus. She earned her CrossFit Level 1 in 2015, began coaching at CrossFit Clintonville in September of 2016, and went on to earn her CrossFit Level 2 Certification in July of 2019. During that time, she took a brief break from CrossFit to walk on to the Ohio State Women’s rowing team for the 2015 season. In early 2021, Ali moved to St. Louis, MO to pursue her doctorate of chiropractic. She continued to coach at CrossFit Wildwood, where she had the opportunity to coach and train with CF Games, CF Semifinals, and adaptive athletes. In late 2023, Ali finished her in-person coursework and Student Clinic rotations, returned to the Columbus area, and resumed coaching at her home away from home, CFC. She is finishing her education with an internship at Columbus Spine and Sport Center, where she will practice following her graduation in April 2024.

Ali is passionate about fitness, the community (she met her fiancé at CFC), and keeping athletes healthy to help them achieving their goals. Let’s go!
