Why did I join CrossFit? If you would have asked me this two years ago when I first joined I would have said for the challenge of doing something new. Today it's for the amazing community and group of people I get to workout with and sometimes question why we continue to pay to do this ourselves with. HAHA

I've always been a fan of sports both playing and watching, mostly watching. Being a tad on the smaller side all my life it wasn't easy to find a sport I could participate in but also be competitive. That was until high school where I discovered that I was a pretty good runner and ran both track and cross country. Of course high school had to end so did my days of competitive running but the worst part was losing the teammates I had made over the four years. Post high school I joined many gyms to continue to workout and stay in shape but it just wasn't the same. Fast forward a few years later where I met someone, who eventually became a very good friend that was a member of CFGV. She was telling me one day about some of her insane workouts and I thought "no way can I do that.......HARD PASS!" Until I saw them outside one day dragging sleds with weights on them back and forth in their parking lot. I thought it looked like pure torture but also challenging. So on whim I decided to join a gym on a one week trial just to try it out. As rough as that first week was,  I had so much fun and enjoyed it.

Sadly that gym had to close and I had a major surgery all at the same time. I had already decided once healed up I was going to stick with CrossFit, just needed a new gym. I tried a few out, which were just ok then one Saturday I strolled in CFC for a community workout. It was an extremely tough workout, especially having to take 4 months off to heal and get. Yet after leaving that class I knew I found the right gym for me. While there is still room for improvement ( still working on those damn dubs) if you would have told me a year ago I would be able to do toes to bar or a hand-stand I would have laughed at you! I am so grateful for all the fellow members and appreciative of all the coaches. Even when I'm being difficult I really am listening to your advice...LOL
